Lovely Singer 99 hand operated sewing machine, GWO Search Lovely vintage Singer 99K hand operated sewing machine. Great condition, good working order. Commissioned at Singer's Kilbowie, Glasgow plant in Scotland between January and June 1918, making it 93 years old. This machine has a drop in round bobbin. Unusually the hand wheel and face plate are plain black. For a small machine, this is a real workhorse, and should give you many years of trouble free sewing. The decals are the elegant Filigree, they are in very good condition, with very little wear anywhere on the machine. The chrome work is bright and rust free. The wooden base is in good condition, there is a side compartment for accessories. The case is suitcase style, with crocodile leathrette covering. This is in good condition, apart from some marks and a scuff on the front at the bottom, as shown in the photos.The handle is quite worn. Both base and cover have been cleaned and polished with soft antique wax polish. The machine has been stripped, cleaned and oiled and stitches very well, it has forward only, no reverse stitch. It comes with 4 bobbins and will take the smaller modern plastic bobbins available in sewing machine shops.
