You are bidding on a Very Lovely ANTIQUE CHINESE HAND PAINTED Bowl and Hand Carved Wooden Pedestal. I would guess late 1900's - early 1900's. It is beautifully multi-colored with what look like enamel paints. Since Orientalia is not my field of expertise, I'm not sure what this type of ware is called. I thought possibly Imari or Famille Rose, but not 100% sure. Hopefully someone out t can help me out. It has a Lovely Shell Shape. You can tell that it rests on the original wooden base, because the base is exactly the same shape, and appears to be hand carved, and custom made to fit this bowl. When you look at the painted design of this bowl, it reminds me of an OWL or a HAWK - with the face on the front and the tail on the backside. I'm describing this in layman's terms, because as previously mentioned, this is not my field of expertise. Bowl measures almost 9" Long X 5" wide X almost 2 3/4" High. It does have a little damage - T is a chip on the rim, the size of a pea, with a 1 1/2" Hairline coming down from the chip. I have tried to show you this in my PICS, so, please see. T is a bit of light staining inside the bowl near the rim, almost as if someone used this as a planter. You can also view this in my PICS. Otherwise, it looks pretty good, especially given the age.
