You are invited to bid on this lovely vintage retro part coffee set, made by Alboth & Kaiser of Western Germany in approximately the 1950s. It consists of a covered sugar bowl, a cream jug, two cups and 5 saucers. The pieces are made of fine china and are very dainty. they are designed very elegantly with angular handles and delicate tapering shapes. They are decorated with an abstract bark-like pattern in a variety of colours - beige, coral and aqua blue - against a white ground. I have been unable to trace the pattern name. The sugar bowl, jug, one cup and once saucer are beige; one cup and two saucers are coral; two saucers are blue. I am sure they all belong to the same set despite the differences in colour. The jug stands almost 3.5" tall; the sugar bowl just over 4" tall with lid; the cups almost 2.5" tall; the saucers almost 4.5" across. They all bear the Alboth & Kaiser Alka Kunst backstamp dating them to the 1950s. All pieces are in good condition with no cracks or chips. A lovely decorative and serviceable vintage set.
