I have no idea what this piece is, perhaps someone can tell us. I do know that it is a lovely Noritake piece! It is round and measures 5 1/2 inches across and 1 1/2 inches high not including the handle. The total height is about 5 inches. This piece has a black checkerboard rim, then pretty pink and purple morning glories or pansies (or some similar flower) and green leaves surrounding 4 gold trimmed indentations that may hold eggs or oysters. In the center is an opening that I am guessing would hold water. T is a cute little top with gold decor that fits into the hole. The handle is trimmed in gold as well. I have searched Replacements , Noritake and Google to try and find this piece. No luck! It is marked on the bottom "Noritake" with the "M" symbol and "handpainted Made in Japan". I believe this is an older piece because of the markings and because of w I acquired it. The lady I am selling this item for has been collecting for many many years. She doesn't remember w she acquired this piece. She worked for the Federal Government until she retired and moved around quite a bit, carrying her "stuff" with her. Now she has decided to downsize her collection and has asked me to help her. The only thing I can tell you for sure about this piece is that it is lovely, it is old Noritake, and it must be unusual since I cannot find anything like it.
