The model is O for Original series, design number 10, c for cutaway, with a cedar top that has darkened naturally over time and Indian rosewood back and sides, which gives it its depth of tone and rich treble. It has the hallmark Lowden split saddle to aid intonation and, as always with Lowden, impeccable craftsmanship and a beautiful sound. The label shows guitar number 2449, which makes it circa late 1992, only a year after the O and F series were introduced. The guitar shows some of the marks of being well-played, as it has been, with a very small dink on the lower bout and wear where the little finger of the right hand rests. Being well-played, the sound has developed beautifully, with a deep, rich, resonant tone. I have played this guitar in standard and alternative tunings. With the bottom end of the guitar de-tuned it has an incredible added bass response. Of the alternative tunings, this guitar seems to particularly enjoy DADGAD and open D major. I have recorded and played live with this guitar. Sound engineers have told me on several occasions that they like working with Lowdens because they have such an even tone (no predominant thin treble or overbooming bass). I am selling this guitar only because I have too many instruments and I am now so used to guitars in the Lowden S (small bodied) series. Dimensions: Neck width
