This stunning 0-35c Lowden was bought in December 2005 by mefrom the George Lowden workshop in Downpatric, Northern Ireland. It was bought at a time of great optimism and hope that I might be able to develop and improve my fingerpicking capabilities and so do this guitar justice. The rich, resonant and airy tones have to be experienced to be believed. Seven years on and I realise now that I am destined for much more modest things and with age has come the realisation that what I really like and enjoy most is the occasional strum and frankly this guitar deserves much, much better than to sit in its case most of the time. Not that this isn’t a great guitar to strum – indeed my decision to buy a Lowden was in no small part inspired by the incredible Donogh Hennessy formerly of Lunasa, a formidable strummer and long time Lowden player, but also (critically) a wonderful finger style player too. The guitar is in great playing shape, the action is perfect, just as it was on delivery – there are no problems playing right up the neck and the intonation is spot on. It comes with an LR Baggs Ribbon Transducer that was factory fitted when built. Cosmetically the is a small ding on the cutaway as can be seen from one of the photographs.
