A Lowestoft Porcelain Teapot Circa 1777 Decorated in the Curtis Style A charming and rare Lowestoft porcelain teapot decorated with delicate floral sprigs by Thomas Curtis. Curtis was famous for his flower painting and often used small floral sprigs all around a piece with individual flowers scattered around. Curtis decorated in over glaze enamels and therefore his works are almost one off pieces. The shape is a well known Lowestoft globular teapot. The teapot stand 6.25 inches tall, the base has professional/museum style restoration to hairlines to the base, these hairlines have had a staple repair removed (thats the two groups of holes in the piece), there are a number of small nibbles to the rim and stress hairline above the spout. The piece has been extremely well restored and the quality of the decoration make this a collectors piece. Posted with eBay Mobile
