~~ THE WHO ~~ - LIVE AT LEEDS - Original DECCA release =STEREO= LIVE Performance !! This album is often rated as the single best live rock album of all time! Definately on many lists of top albums no matter how you slice it. It's a real classic. RECORDED LIVE February 15, 1970 in Hull, UK. For background I suggest a web search - try ". DECCA DL 79175 --> LABEL NUMBERS: Side 1= MG 712420 ..... Side 2 = MG 712421 Released in May, 1970. MATRIX on VINYL: Side 1 scribed: 7 12420 3 ... Side 2 scribed: 7 12421 1 Side 2 is definately a First Pressing. Odds are good that side 1 is also, but more research is needed to be sure. -- NOTE: You see actual photos of the album being sold - we'd never stoop to using a STOCK PHOTO !! Yuk! -- Tracks: SIDE 1: Young Man Blues Substitute Summertime Blues Shakin' All Over SIDE 2: My Generation (14:27) the Magic (7:30) INCLUDES: Extra material supplied with the LP: Photo = 6 x 8 Glossy 8½ x 11 Copy on yellow paper for WHO gig - a CONTRACT - for performance 27 June '69 @ Aquarian Festival, NY State 8½ x 11 Copy on White Paper: box office receipts (mock hand written) showing tally in all that cool complicated Brit money. 8½ x 11 Copy on White Paper: from King agency saying that the WHO performance scheduled will not occur because, "...The WHO are not the type of Group that would go well in his ballroom." 8½ x 11 Copy on white paper proporting to be the scrap paper on which "MY GENERATION" was written - shows arrangement notes and lyrics. 8½ x 11 Copy on white paper with EMI letterhead explaining that the demo tape is lackluster, but that they will listen to another one sometime in the future, but, "...can't decide whether on not [tapes] have anything to offer." 8½ x 11 Copy on white paper / red ink: Itinerary for "Malcom Rose" showing prices and commissions. 8½ x 11 Copy on Yellow paper: Itinerary for "The High Numbers" showing prices and commissions 5 x 8 copy on white paper of County Court Proceeding demanding either payment or return of a specific VOX Guitar & VOX Piano Bass due to "Cheque returned from bank " 5 x 8 copy on white paper: a delivery notice for 1 gross Smoke generators. CONDITION: all these extra items are in near perfect condition with no flaws. COVER: 9 out of 10. Very good to excellent condition overall. Flaws: just a tad of rub (from other albums) showing on the front and rear. Almost Zero fray or wear at corners. Inside of cover is perfect. Cardboard is tight and stiff over all. No cut-out (drill) holes. No cut-out corners. No stickers applied. No Stamps. No writing on the cover. No stains. No saw-marks or indents. No mold or mildew spots. No water damage. No noticable odors. No razor marks or other cuts or scratches. Not warped. JACKET: 9 out of 10 - the paper jacket is clean and shows no rips. It's white generic paper that is nearly opaque. Don't know if this is original with this album or not since there are no identifying marks on the jacket. Only flaw: a few small shallow creases. VINYL: 9 out of 10. Excellent, just short of perfect. There is a smudged fingerprint on the edges, and near the center - these will probably yield to cleaning. It's thick vinyl - typical of the '70 release date - deep grooves, shiny surface = all excellent, with no visible scratches - there are two visible 'pressure lines' that are visible, but do not come thru audibly -- they are at the very top of the vinyl grooves, and are just barely visible. The vinyl is Stiff - can not deflect it more than ½ inch. Sounds GREAT on my Dual linear track machine! LABEL: 9 out of 10. Excellent in every regard: clear, not faded, no stains. Would be perfect if not for a few spindle marks on both sides - these are shallow - none go thru the paper. They are invisible until you search for them in intense light held at the right angle.
