You are bidding on a very unique candle holder. My father insists it is made of lead and that it is early 18th century. However, I believe it to be made of pewter and am really not sure of its age or origin. The item does show wear and has some scratching and bumps and bends from storage. The base is hollow and the top portion screws onto the bottom portion. The top portion is broken however it can easily be repaired with gorilla glue. I did not want to clean it or mess with it, just in case my Dad was correct and it is an 18th century item. PLEASE NOTE: It does have a raised signature/stamp on the base between 2 of the legs. T is a thick cross inside of an oval. T is an "I" on the left bottom side of cross and a "V" on the right bottom side of crass. It measure 23 inches in heighth and is approximately 7.5 inches wide at its widest point. I'm baaaack! For those of you who have not purchased from me in the past...I started selling on Ebay to help my parents earn a little extra cash and t My Dad was a maintenance man/handyman who worked at a condominium on the island of Palm Beach, Florida for as long as I can remember. The residents would have him do all sorts of jobs for them and many times these people would give him "things," which he'd bring home and put in the garage w they have been for many, many years. Many of these items, I have learned, were very valuable, and some were just "junk." But you know what they say, "One person's junk is another's treasure." Having said that... For the record, I am not a professional sales rep or a listing company, or an antique dealer or anything like that. I can usually figure out what an item is, what it is made of, how old it is and have my Dad supply me with some kind of background info, however, I cannot guarantee that my guesses are always going to be 100% accurate. I will always describe things as best as I can and I encourage you to e-mail me with questions before bidding. All items are sold as-is and all sales are final. Returns may be allowed, however, it will be determined at my discretion on a case-by-case basis.
