About me: I have been a member on Ebay for about a year now and I've been buying many different types of antiques on Ebay, private auctions, and estate sales. I am now in the process of opening up an antique furniture and decorative arts store and I overstocked a little so now I am selling some very beautiful and extremely rare antiques and items on Ebay. The Item: we present to you we present to you a Dresden Meissen Continental Porcelain Fabulous Figural Group with an excellent story encompassed in it. We think it is French and dates to the early 19 th century. We cannot identify the mark, unfortunately, but the work is exquisite, in a Meissen manner, and absolutely comparable to Meissen . It is a large group of courting male and female musicians and behind them is probably their son with a dog wearing the manâe(tm)s hat, probably learning/practicing tricks as the next act will be the boy and dogâe(tm)s performance before the aristocratic crowd. The man and woman (probably married) both view the stand holding the book of notes that comprises the central axis. The small empty space between the heads of the couples delineates their individuality as they play their respective instruments in front of an aristocratic crowd. The base is a wonderful gilted Rococo and the floor they stand on is very colorful and unique. Also are notes on the floor in front of the man. The man plays a flute while the woman plays a mandolin in a very concentrated manner. Their hands and faces are incredibly realistic. Their hairstyles and dress is very sophisticated, undoubtedly before a rich crowd. Their clothing matched and has gilted raised details. The hair styles and scarf on the woman frames her head in an angelic like manner. The colors are pastel and beautiful. Also on their clothing are raised details on the flower designs. The clothing folds in a drape like manner to show the realism that the artist employed while creating the piece. Their son in the back of the wonderful piece (making it enjoyable from 360 degrees) is preparing for his act with a show dog as the dog stands on a woodlike object, the boy is giving the standing dog his hand, preparing him for the next act. He also looks very concentrated and is dressed very well, with gilted details and pastel colors like his parents. This piece has a wonderful story, is undoubtedly rare, and absolutely comparable to Meissen. Donâe(tm)t miss your chance to own such an incredible piece. The figurine measures 10âe in height and 9âe in width. The condition is very good. Please view pictures as part of the description and it is much more beautiful in person.
