This is an extremely fine example of the Green Line network. It is a bit tricky to date the item as there are no definitive indications. However, my theory is that it dates from 1933. Here's the evidence the Web site http://www./history/ says that: Green Line Coaches Ltd was registered by the London General Omnibus Company on 9 July 1930. The Green Line brand was used for coach services linking central London with country towns within a 30-mile radius and centred on a new coach station at Poland Street, near Oxford Circus. There was a period of competition with a series of independent operators who either ceased or sold out to LGOC. ( Note that this map does not refer to Poland Street coach station as far as I can see) Move to Victoria Green Line became part of the London Passenger Transport Board in 1933. A network of cross-London services using route letters was developed. The Poland Street coach station closed and the majority of routes intersected at Victoria. ( Note that this map does show all the routes with letters - so that makes the map 1933 or later) However , the print reference number on the FRONT is : 33-3630, 20000 . Based on all this I'm guessing that the map dates from 1933. The map is in super condition with just a little discolouring on the front. It measures 23cm wide by 31cm deep. - just over A4 size which read more
