This is a hand-signed, limited edition lithographic print by Ludwig Bemelmans (1898-1962), depicting the scene from the original Madeline book where the caption reads 'To the Tiger in the Zoo, Madeline said "Pooh Pooh".' Age is unknown. Signed in the plate, signed by hand by Bemelmans and numbered 131 of 200. Matted and framed under glass over thirty years ago by our client. Condition is excellent. We have searched the web and all major auction and online sale databases have haven't found any references to limited edition prints by Bemelmans. As such, it appears likely he created very few prints such as this one.
