Here's something very special and unique for the aviation or military history collector: an opportunity to own an authentic piece of the aircraft flown by one of the world's greatest fighter aces, framed with a beautiful portrait, his aircraft's color profile, and history and both man and machine! Heinrich Ehrler flew for Germany's Luftwaffe in World War II and accumulated 208 confirmed victories in the air. His famous Messerschmitt Me 109 G-2/R6 'Yellow 12' was the aircraft he flew during his most active period while with JG 5 and in which he shot down his 200th 'kill'. When he was later transferred to another unit, 'Yellow 12' was flown by another pilot and was shot down over Russia by flak. In 2008 the aircraft was excavated. Ehrler was also known, in a tragic way, for his final mission of the war. On April 5th 1945, while at the stick of his Me 262 jet fighter, he was heard to say into his radio, " Theo. I have run out of ammunition. I'm going to ram this one. Good bye. We'll see each other in Valhalla." Thus did he receive credit for his 208th, and final, 'victory', by sacrificing himself to destroy an 8th Air Force B-24 over his country.
