extremely rare set of 4 luther conover molded fiberglass shell rockers. these chairs were designed by luther conover for lloyd manufacturing co, menominee, mi. they were originally purchased by the city of new york in the 1950's and placed in central park, according to the estate we purchased these from. the chairs unfortunately have been painted several times. we started to peel the paint which comes off pretty easily, but decided to leave restoration to a professional. you can clearly see the wonderful fibers of the fiberglass shell. the chrome bases on each chair have also been painted and show quite a bit of rust. the chairs have a wonderful history and restored they would be incredible pieces of modern history, used either indoors or out. each chair measures 31.5" tall by 28" wide by 33.5" deep. these chairs originally had a paper tag but are no longer with the chair.
