Japan: Eichi Shuppan, 2002, First Edition, HB, dj, 25 x 26 cm, Approx. 100 pp, color and b/w photos. Condition: Very Good, with obi. Comments: Hanabusa lives in both Japan and France and is probably the photographer who is most comparable to the great French photographers, Jeanloup SIEFF and Jean-Francois JONVELLE, in both style and quality. Seeing an example of Hanabusa, one could easily be confused. I have never seen a book by Hanabusa that I would not recommend highly. This is probably his most extreme model monograph - intensely saturated color photos ala Shinoyama with a very energetic and uninhibited model. Very similar to the exciting model photo books of Hajime Sawatari. This import photobook was never published outside of Japan and never reprinted. Lyu Hanabusa Biography: Born 1949, Osaka, Japan. Lyu Hanabusa made his debut as a professional photographer with the one-man exhibition "Mo hitotsu-Nanika (One More Something)" in 1970.
