This is a pair of NOS M1950 Korean War 50/50 Cotton Wool Long Underwear pants ink stamped XL and dated 1953 . These are the warmest and very comfortable Long john bottoms you will put on. 18.5" waist unstretched and 36" inseam. My Brother who is Deploying again to Iraq next year, who Flies Kiowa OH 58 Helicopters, wears these under German wool Field pants under one size too big nomex Flight suits with an Austrian Boiled wool Sweater in the Winter and he says he prefers that to his old Tanker bibs and a flight Jacket. by regulation, they cannot wear any undergarments that are not Silk Cotton, Wool or Nomex, in case of a Fire. I wore this type in the 80s running Snow plows in the USAF in Montana, they are warm after my dad gave me a bunch from when he was in the Army. I preferred them to the Brown PolyPropelene ones.
