Signed and marked figurine "Not For You" (#317) by M. I. Hummel, Trademark 4 (Stylized Bee - 3 Line Mark) made by Goebel circa 1964 - 1972. The figurine stands anout 5 3/4" high; and is 2 1/2" x 3 3/4" at the oval base. The figurine is that of a little boy hiding a big bouquet of red flowers behind his back as his little dog begs to see what he has hidden. The little boy has blond hair and is wearing brown ledderhosen, a white shirt and a brown, green and red plain jacket. The little dog is gray and has a bright orange collar. The figurine is signed "M. I. Hummel" on the top of the base and also has a sticker that reads "Not for you". The bottom has an impressed "317"; the Stylized Bee with the 3 Line mark "(c) by W. Goebel, W. Germany" It also has an impressed "1956", which I believe is the Copy Right date. The figurine is in great condition - t is some light crazing on the bottom and 2 small "fleabites" on the base (which appear to have been glazed over) - other than that t are no chips, cracks or damage.
