R.M.S OLYMPIC Linoleum 6" Floor Tile.This floor tile came from R.M.S. OLYMPIC at the auction of her fittings at the Jarrow Shipyard in 1935. The tile has a little damage to it as can be seen in the photo I have started the bid price to reflect this Smith and Walton Paint Makers in Haltwhistle bought a large quantity of her fittings to fit out a new office block and canteen.These tiles were used on her ill fated sister ship TITANIC and examples can be seen in photos of the wreck site This example is the nearest thing to owning a piece of Titanic without spending a Queens ransom.This will make an excellent addition to any White Star Line collection. OLYMPICS service began in 1911 and She became known as "Old Reliable"Her fittings now are true antiques. Also included is a certificate of authenticity and a short history of Olympics service and of the time the fittings were at the Haltwhistle Paint Works.As background to this item I was the owner of the Haltwhistle site and in September of 2004 held an auction at site to sell off the Olympics fittings. The fittings left unsold I make items from in my retirement, so be assured what you buy from me is authentic material from this great liners history Please feel free to ask any questions you may have
