F M RONNEBY CRYSTAL SEAL PAPERWEIGHT – SIGNED F M RONNEBY CRYSTAL SEAL PAPERWEIGHT – SIGNED This is a beautiful example of the Marcolin /Murano style glass work. This crystal seal was made in Ronneby Sweden by the Marcolin brothers glass factory. The FM in the mark stands for Fare Marcolin (made by Marcolin, in Swedish) and is the mark of Josef and Benito Marcolin, who were trained on the island of Murano (Venice) and went to Sweden shortly after World War II. The brothers set up their own business in Ronneby w they produced many fine pieces of art glass. This piece is signed “ F M Ronneby Sweden M333 – Mo” The measurements are: fin to tip of head: 4-3/4”, fin to fin: 3”, and base to tip of tail: 8” In the photos you can see that some photos show the seal resting on the fin and tail, this looks just as good that way as it does resting on the smooth bottom surface (tail up.) T are no nicks, fleabites, scratches, breaks or repairs. This is in mint condition and would make a lovely addition to your collection.
