M. SMITH --< & C o >-- NEW YORK ~ N o. 1' . This is either a Smith or Paul Wirt, Bloomsburg, Pa. , dip / fountain pen which were sold in Smith's store. I am favoring it to be a Wirt because of the FINE Victorian SWIRLING of GOLD BAND . T are TWO ~2~ Twisted STRANDS of GOLD Inlaid in the ' Twisted ' 'M O P' / MOTHER Of PEARL Handle extending to the Top GOLD BALL Finial . It measures; 6" & is in EXCELLENT Antique Condition showing normal ware & a 'flat' spot on the GOLD of the 2nd or Larger of the bands down from the MOP (ONLY visible w/ magnification) -NO cracks -NO repairs.
