This is absolutely rare Original WW II M1 Carbine Stock Set- "IR" Marked for Inland Stock Manufacturer: Richardson Bros. Co. Model: Type 3- Low wood Type of wood: Straight Grain Black American Walnut Location: Sheyboygan Falls, Wisconsin Stock Code & Markings: " RI & Flaming Bomb" -stamped on sling well, DOD Cross Cannon, and still visible Unserified "P" in circle- under the pistol grip. Handguard Manufacturer: Jamestown Lounge Co. Factory Location: Jamestown, NY Stock Code: "PJ" large letter -under the handguard Model: Type 3; shallower grove and smaller clearance on the other end; 4 rivets-late issue Wood Type: Black American Walnut- tiger stripe Stock Set Overall Condition: It's lightly sanded and had been cleaned only without destroying the original condition specially the markings. It's very good and t are some evidence of battle and storage rack marks. T is a old minor repair on band spring area and very tiny hairline near the scutcheon nut that is usually common for aged WW II issue stock but t is no major flaws . The AGI military stock refinishing technique was applied in order to preserve the uniqueness of this uncommon WW II issue M1 Carbine stock war time replacement. I believe this stock was used due to a repair of the damaged M1 Carbine that gone from battlefield. This is over 60 years old but still ready for service and will accept your just released CMP Carbine or soon to be release.
