Up for bid is a M1 Carbine Stock, Handguard & Metal. It is a Type 2 (Highwood) Stock and is coded on the right side with the Inland Acceptance Stamp (crossed cannons). In the slingwell is something different than the normal Inland markings. It is stamped "Trimble over TN" with a large "I". According to Ruth's "War Baby", page 357, on 7/17/43, National Postal Meter furnished Inland 1,000 stocks. It has the circled "P" on the end of the hand grip. The stock is solid with No splits or cracks, No arsenal rebuild stamps & No M2-Cut. Nose of stock is smooth and has only a Type 1 barrel band scar. The only other marking is a # 3 on the left side near the recoil plate area. Very few minor nicks & dings on stock or handguard. Handguard is a Type 2 coded with the "OI". Stock comes with all the metal; recoil plate coded with the Inland "DI", the screw & stock escutcheon, front barrel band retaining spring, buttplate & screw.
