M1 Garand C46025-1SA Early Milled Trigger Guard As Manufactured by Springfield Armory Up for auction is a very nice example of an early milled trigger guard for an M1Garand rifle as manufactured by Springifield Armory as part of its production of M1 rifles for the USA Armed Forces. It is marked C46025-1SA and has an even satin black gray finish which I believe to be original. Slight wear on the edges of the trigger loop, a really nice trigger guard. The finish is blacker than the pictures show, I believe the early guards produced by Springfield had this quite dark kind of finish, more like Winchester than later SA which was more gray or greenish.
This guard would be appropriate for pre-WWII rifles made by Springfield fro serial number 80,000 to 320,000. It of course could also be used to replace a non-original stamped guard on SA rifles with serial numbers below 3,000,000 to give the rifle a more original milled guard appearance (especially if the trigger housing and/or receiver has a darker finish).
