Offered for sale is this Springfield walnut stock set for a M1 Garand rifle. This furniture has been refinished using tung oil. All dents and scratches have been raised or filled. The stock is solid and has a 1/2 inch DAS stamp and a faint proof P on the pistol grip. The handguards are also in good shape. All necessary metal is present on the stock and handguards, and the metal is in very good condition. Now for some issues. This stock has been arsenal repaired and has a walnut pin installed in back of the receiver area. They did a very nice job, but I'm not sure why they did this. I see no evidence of any cracks in this area. The other issue is that the stock has a small amount of toe wear. However, the stock still locks up nicely in the trigger group area and does not have any receiver overhang. The color of the wood is all matching. All in all, this is not a collector grade stock, but would be good for making a late SA rifle correct or even using it as a shooter stock. Please see pictures and contact me with any questions.
