M1 Garand Stamped Trigger Guard with Milled Hook As Manufactured by Springfield Armory Up for auction is a terrific example of a stamped trigger guard for an M1 Garand asmanufactured by Springfield Armory as part of their production of rifles for the US military during World War II.
The finish on this guard is terrific. It was refinished by someone who knew what he was doing. The finish is an even very dark black gray and is darn near perfect, call it 99%. The tab is like new and the locking lugs are in very good shape with only slight flattening. This guard would be difficult to surpass, the only thing better would be new in the wrap and maybe not even then! The trigger guard is the stamped type used in the later half of WWII in that it has a milled hook which was used with receivers with serial numbers from about 3,000,000 to about 3,900,000 (September 1944 to October 1945). This guard would be great to restore your late WWII Garand or one made in the 1950's. I have several stamped and milled trigger guards along with other Garand parts, all in great condition.
