ATTENTION EBAY : THE RIFLE PICTURED IN THIS AUCTION IS FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY AND NOT FOR SALE . THE ONLY THING BEING AUCTIONED IS THE WOOD STOCK. Nice walnut replacement stock for your M1. It has its share of handling marks, drill scars, and all around GI wear, but it is a solid and tight stock that should produce good groups if placed under a nice action with a good barrel.T is a very faint remainder of a post war DOD cartouche --- a ghost stamp? --- two of three stars are visible as well as that corner of the box. See pics w bullet tip points out the upper left corner of the box and the second pic points out the middle star. T could be an eagle's wing in t but it is hard to tell. Nice tight trigger lock up -- see pic to see w trigger guards begins tension. No forward-to-back looseness around the receiver legs. No receiver overhang. No buttplate overhang -- lots of meat left on the toe.The clip latch area has a crack on the side and at the top. T is a close up shot in the pics. I tried to get fishing line down in the crack but could not. This leads me to believe the crack was repaired with some kind of adhesive.Several pictures below to give an idea of the wear. The worst are a couple small gauges and dings (pictured). Many of the dents can be steamed out; Dings that broke the grain of the wood, however, cannot be steamed out. Has "4818" stamped on buttstock. No surprises: If you do not find the stock to be as-described return it for a full refund. I'll even pay for return shipping. My only stipulation is that it is post marked for return immediately after receipt, no later than two business days. Payment due within ten days of close of auction. Insurance is required and included in the $10 shipping fee. Money orders preferred but will accept personal checks.
