Up for your consideration is a technical manual dated August 31,1963. It is an Operating, Maintenance, and Repair Manual with Replacement Parts. The manual is for the 5.56MM M16 rifle . This manual was published under authority of the Secretary of the Air Force. The manual measures 8 1/4" by 10 3/4". It contains approx. 56 pages. The original period manual is in used condition as appropriate for the age and usage as an industrial technical reference. Along with the manual are seven actual photographs from the Springfield Armory, U.S Army featuring the rifle in different views and configurations (7 are included, only 4 shown in photos). These are 8 1/2" by 10 1/2" black and white glossy photos on Kodak paper. They are all stamped on the back with the U.S Army credits. They are dated November 10, 1964. There is also copies of some notes describing the project dated 18 OCT 1963. Some of the manuals contain hand written engineering notes and bookmarks as would be expected. I will be listing many manuals, documents, and photos from this collection from an important employee of the former Springfield Armory. The items are from the personal effects of Peter W Marshall who worked at the Springfield Armory until its closing, then retired. He was a senior project engineer at the armory specializing in machine gun technology of both land
