This original vet bring back German ww2 steel helmet Model M35/40 with original M1931 liner system and chinstrap.It has original camouflage ,not the modern repro's seen at all the military shows ,of brown and tan paint over the standard green. Underside of neck apron is stamped "1262" ,denoting the helmet shell size as size 62 for head size 55. The original liner ,with original drawstring,size is "56" which is an intermediate size and this is stamped on the original leather liner as"56".The aluminium liner is also stamped "56" and a maker which is difficult to make out "G ----A ". on the inside of the leather liner t is also a number "16" stamped, and written in pen what appears to be the letters "EGX" which could be the owners identification On the left inside of the steel helmet ,just below the liner is, is stamped "ET64" denoting the maker of the steel helmet as "Eisenhuttenwerke Thale" . The helmet correctly does not have any decals as these were not worn on helmets during wartime ,as per the German Army Bulletin of 21 March 1940. The helmet has not been cleaned in order to preserve the originality of it ,nor has it been taken apart or tampered with .It is a real sleeper.The inside of the liner and helmet still have original mud from the battleground and parts of the felt liner between the leather and aluminium ring .Original read more
