This is the tea caddy of Japanese TANBA ware. This was made about 50 years ago.
TANBA ware is the pottery of Hyogo Prefecture in Japan. It is chosen as one of the oldest 6 pottery in Japan.
Tanba, Shigaraki, Bizen etc are very popular as pottery of Japanese WABI-SABI .
This is very good TANBA. And it has an ivory lid. This is a very good tea-things made seriously.
