This is a Lan-Cay M9 bayonet in so called winter white color. It is in new condition. It has a black finish on the blade. Lan-Cay started producing M9 bayonets in various colors for the commercial market in the late 1990's. Some collectors have speculated that these white examples were first made to try and interest the Army in a winter camoflage version, but this has never been confirmed. To the serious collector, these white versions are still interesting because they used a completely different finish on the cutter plate and scabbard belt connector. It is more of a silvery grey in appearance and is quite distinctive from the normal black finish.The plastic buckle pieces are also done in white.
