About the painting: This auction is for an original watercolour painting by Peter MacGregor Wilson (1856-1928) RSW, it is signed by the artist in the bottom left hand corner. The painting is of a view towards Kintyre Castle which is in Argyll in a very picturesque area in West Scotland. The painting measures 50 x 30 cm and framed 56 x 35 cm. About the artist: Peter MacGregor Wilson (1856-1928) was a famous Scottish landscape painter of the late 19th and early 20th Century. As the label on the back shows he exhibited at Royal Academy, Royal Scottish Watercolour Society and many other exhibitions as well as being the President of the Glasgow Art club. His paintings have been on sale at Bonhams, Sotheby's and Christie's. Please see picture attached with one of his paintings going for over £2000.
