Paldao Group end table- produced in 1940 by Herman Miller, Zeeland Michigan. Designed by Gilbert Rohde, an early 20th century industrial designer known for his Bauhaus, Art Deco, and Machine Age styled furniture, lamps, and clocks. The Paldao Group was named for the type of wood used- Paldao, as well as the Acacia burl used on this table top, and leather cloth- in which the legs are wrapped. The table is in excellent condition and has a beautiful satin lacquer finish. The only flaws I see are minor- a small indentation near one edge on the top, and a couple small veneer fixes on one side (photos). The depth seen in the burl wood when the sun hits it is stunning- it almost glows. Dimensions: Approx. 27 1/4 inches high, and the biomorphic top is approx. 27 x 22 1/2 inches. The table legs will be removed for shipping (four screws for each leg), so the table can be shipped flat. Insurance is required and cost will be determined at the the end of the auction. Shipping to the U.S. Only. PayPal only for Payment. FED EX Ground to Los Angeles and San Francisco is $30.00 New York is $50.00.
