MACHINE AGE/AMERICAN STANDARD/J.L. MOTT Out-of-print and extremely hard to find copy of the National Trust for Historic Preservation book on the Golden Age of American Plumbing. The extensive section on the AMERICAN STANDARD CO. is dazzling and revelatory, illustrated with reproductions of their hallmark color renderings from the early 1930's. Also of enormous interest is a facsimile of the J.L. MOTT Plumbing catalog from 1914. J.L. MOTT were pioneers in the field of plumbing in turn-of-the-century America, producing both affordable & luxury fixtures (like cage showers & fire-clay bath tubs) and their work is avidly collected today. An invaluable resource, which easily brings $100.- from a knowledgeable bookseller--if one can find a copy for sale! Near fine, in soft cover as published w/small remainder mark. "themrfrank" is the on-line identity of an Interior Designer and Collector who specializes in the restoration and conservation of (mostly) 20th century decorative objects, particularly lighting fixtures, metal wares, phenolic-resin based plastics, and the like. An important side-light are books and other (printed) materials relating to the decorative arts. All items offered for sale are guaranteed to the highest possible standard, and exactly described as to condition.
