A Genuine World War One British War & Victory Medal Pair with Original Ribbons plus George VI Special Constabulary & Defence Medals. Medals have the usual light scratches and bumps. SANDERSONThe Defence Medal is un-named as issuedCaptain CHARLES THOMAS AULDJO SANDERSON of the MACHINE GUN CORPSCharles was born on 7th March 1896 in STETCHWORTH, Cambridgeshire.He was Commissioned in 1915 as a Temporary Second Lieutenant with the 10th ( RESERVE ) Battalion THE NORFOLK REGIMENT.On 28th February 1916 he Transferred to the MACHINE GUN CORPS as a 2nd Lieutenant but with Seniority from 1st November 1915.He entered France at ROUEN on 11th August 1916 and on 3rd September 1916 he joined the 73rd Company MGC in the Field.He returned to Base Depot at CAMIERS on 30th October 1916 and on 9th November he joined 75th Company MGC in the Field.In February 1917 he went on a course at ABBEVILLE, rejoining 75th Coy at the end of the month.He was made Temporary Lieutenant on 1st June 1917 and became a TRANSPORT OFFICER with 75th Coy. On 29th May 1918 ( Now with 25th Battalion MGC ) he became an Acting Captain whilst 2nd in Command of a Company.He returned to the UK with read more
