MACKENZIE-CHILDS GLASS FLUTED LUNCHEONS (3) IN THE "REPERTOIRE" PATTERN- (RARE) Auctioning set of 3 luncheons from the MacKenzie-Childs "Repertoire" collection. This collection had goblets and several sizes of dishes and were designed by Victoria & Richard MacKenzie-Childs and handmade in a factory in the Czech Republic. The plates are approximately 8" across, they are handmade, so some are slightly bigger or smaller. They are a clear background with colors of yellow, raspberry, cobalt blue and emerald green blown in. The fluted rim is in the raspberry color glass. As seen in the side photo, the plate does have a bit of a foot so it sits up to make picking up the plate much easier. In the center of the plate t is the mark w the plate was attached to the tool while held by the artisan blowing out the glass and adding color then when finished, the plate was detached from the tool. It looks like glass bubble.in the center of the plate on the bottom. This is common and not a flaw in handblown glass. T are also a few little bubbles and some you can feel on the surface of the plate. This series has been discontinued for some time and not many sets were made in production. These place are like stained glass and even if they were hung in a lit shadow box or in front of a window, they would be like art! Insurance will be required for these pieces. They are special. These pieces are not marked with M-C markings, but they were purcharsed at the factory over 10 years ago. T is not a reserve on these plates, so that is why I have started the bid a bit high.
