Here is a new, Mad Dog Knives Voodoo Frog knife. Mad Dogknives are getting really hard to find and even harder to find at this price. If you order one today, the wait times are measured in years. I spoke with someone who has waited over 5 years for his Voodoo Frog and still does not have it. Don’t let this one slip by. If you are unfamiliar with this knife, it is quite simply the greatest close-in fighting knife I have ever handled. Balance and blade stoutness is superb. There is nothing out there that even comes close. Read what the US Navy SEAL said about it below. This knife has the VVTL (Very Visible Temper Line) on the blade and comes with both the slip sheath and the combat sheath as well as the original plastic packing. It was opened to handle and then take photos. The grip is made from the famous Mad Dog composite and is easy to grip, secure, indexes in the hand easily and fits like no other knife made. Kevin McClung designed this knife along with a Senior US Navy SEAL Chief as a last line of defense. This is what that SEAL had to say about the design:“It was designed to be my last line of defense weapon, i.e. my carbine is down, I've shot through my pistol ammo and they're still closing in. I wanted a knife that fit on my pistol holster leg shroud that could be drawn quickly and inflict damage no matter which direction I moved my hand.” “I'd say Kevin nailed it with the Voodoo Frog. It's basic shape traces its lineage back to a knife used by the Blackfoot Indians. That appeals to me, also.” Another well known knife afficiando said the following: “Some designs more exactly capture the "feel" or "vibe" of a series than others. I think that this Voodoo Frog typifies what I think of as the initial Voodoo family. This Voodoo Frog in my humble, but educated opinion, is more "mission-specific" in that a wide-bladed knife produces a gaping wound channel when penetrating/thrusting/stabbing. Given the blade length to width ratio one is left thinking that this knife is intended for more stabbing than snap cutting. For use as a weapon (as opposed to a potato peeler) I would be more inclined towards close work, maybe using an ice-pick grip.” “This is a tremendous leap forward for those for whom anything larger than 5" is verboten (per local knife laws), and a very interesting alternative "boot knife", given its relatively diminutive size.” “In terms of design this is a beautifully resolved piece and that the blade edge and sharpened false edge are nearly symmetrical.
