COUTURE COLLECTION This doll is NRFB- NEVER REMOVED FROM BOX-NEVER DISPLAYED. I am the original owner of this doll. I am listing several other Madame Alexander dolls, as well as others. Please check my other listings. In 1953 MA first introduced Cissy. Four decades later, they reintroduced her in 1996. This doll is from 1998. These 1998 dolls were still made in America, as stated on her certificate , and were of the highest quality. ( From what I understand, the newer Cissys are no longer American made.) There were only 6 dolls included in the MA Couture Collection, and Barcelona was one of the 6. She was made in a Limited Edition of only 1500 dolls worldwide. This particular doll has never been removed from her box. She is # 181 of 1500 worldwide. Her wrist tag is as placed on her wrist by MA, and lists the 6 dolls and states that she is a Limited Edition Couture Collection doll. She comes with her numbered Certificate of Authenticity. The MA stock item number for this doll is 22333.This doll also came in a Caucasian version, but the African American version was much more popular and desirable for obvious reasons, being a senorita. Barcelona was far more attractive and better suited in her dark creamy skin tone and jet black hair. She has dark eyes and highlights and deep red lips, as well as the signature beauty mark and red nails. The main photo is the catalog prototype and is true to accurate in what you will receive. Because this doll is in its never removed from box condition, I have not removed the amazing cape for the photograph. The plastic bag that the cape, the hair feather piece and the certificate of authenticity are in is actually stapled to the cardboard insert. I have added photos that I hope will help, and good detailed descriptions. The embroidery and beading on this gown is spectacular. It is a pink satin gown with black spaghetti straps and an attached full black lace train. The bodice of the gown has some black lace, and the beautiful bright embroidery starts in the bodice and flows down the front of the gown. Purple accent beads are plentiful, as well as black jet bugle beads that trail down the dress as the connecting stems of the flowers. The colors of the flowers are vibrant turquoise, yellow, gold, red, pink, white and leaves in 2 shades of green. Really magnificent! The cape, as I stated is enclosed in the plastic package, but I will describe as best as possible, and can tell you that it looks just like the catalog prototype photo-gorgeous!! I can see that it is lined in pink with a sheer black overlay that is loaded with the gorgeous embroidery in the same colors as the gown. It has the same plentiful beading and is fringed with wonderful black fringe. The feather headpiece is also in the bag and has 2 long black feathers and a jeweled ornament of bright pink and green gems. The accessories include the great black fan you see in her hand in the main photo, as well as gem earrings of green and bright pink to match the headpiece ornament, and a 3 strand necklace of colorful gems. Her hair ornament is a bold velveteen rose. She has black lace full length open fingered gloves and black stockings and closed black high heels. You will receive her in the exact condition and packaging that she was received in. She has never been removed and has been stored in my non-smoking, non-pet home. The tissue and cardboard inserts are intact as received. The plastic packaging and accessories are sealed intact as I received them.!
