For your consideration, without reserve, I offer this Vintage Tube Radio Metal Horn Speaker. Radio Magnavox type R3 mod D no.161037 Patented made in the USA The Magnavox Co. Oakland California is stamped on a brass plate on the front. The backside has a large paper tag with Magnavox Telemegafone, and Patent info. and dates running from 1913 to 1923. Under the word "important" on the back it says it is to be connected to the plate output of a vacuum tube amplifier in the same manner as a head set. It continues to address battery binding post, Intervening transformer, plate voltage and says it was factory adjusted for maximum efficiency at all volumes. These brass or brass trimmed pieces come on a .75" thick, 8" x 5.5" piece of wood. It seems heavy for its size which is about 8 lbs. It has a switch above the brass name plate that says off at one end and loud on the other. T are 4 posts with 3 original screw on caps, and between the 2 left posts it says INPUT, and between the right posts A.BATT. This is part of another collection of things, I've picked up and been holding onto because I thought they were neat, that I know little about and never really actively started collecting. Fact is if you're looking at this you probably know more about this thing than I do. Fearful of messing it up and not knowing what or how to check it, I've done nothing other than wipe off the dust. It came with a Crosley Radio of the same time period, also being listed. I make no guaranties, but have found this stuff is hard to kill. It will probably work and look great with a touch up, cleaning, horn, wire cap, and someone who knows what they're doing. This could be a great deal if this is you. Please feel free to ask questions and I'll do what I can to help. Please check out my others listings. I'll be listing several interesting items over the next week or two. I will combine shipping for multiple auction winners. I usually charge actual cost, but won't figure cost on multiple win shipping until additional items are won. Thanks for looking and happy bidding.
