Up for auction is a truly magnificent ice cream tray with some of the finest cutting I have seen. It measures 13-1/8" long and 5-1/4" across. I have checked in my reference books and I believe it is too long to classify as a celery as the longest I see is 12" . Ice cream trays range from 13-1/2" -18". In any case the cutting is simply superb. Very sharp cuts that reflect a rainbow of color. The blank is water white and crystal clear. It is heavy, weighing a little over 3-1/4 pounds. I am certain that is is from one of the top cutting houses. Photos just do not do this one justice! The motif consists of a large deeply cut hobstar on each end circled and framed with a single row of cane buttons extending into the center with a pointed cane panel. The center is intricately cut with hobstars in pointed vesicas also framed and panels of large cane with hobstar buttons. The sides roll inward. The top rim has scallops which alternate a sawtooth with very tiny serated cut edge. The piece is in EXCELLENT condition. I have examined the piece and find on the side scallop, t is a very small flake off the top of 2 of the teeth, very minor and I totally missed them on first inspection. I hope you can see the wonderful detail of this piece in my photos. I welcome any questions. This is one for the discriminating collector! Shipping will range from $8.95 to $12.95 depending on your distance from 01952 MA. I have been selling my collection of American Brilliant Cut Glass. I have been buying and selling this wonderful glass for many years and have run out of space to store pieces that I have purchased. Many are outstanding quality pieces that I have saved to identify the pattern, and some have been put aside because I had planned on having them repaired but have not found a qualified cutter in my area. I have asked a knowledgeable dealer to help identify the pieces that I was not able to identify or find in my research books. Those that I have put a reserve on have a value that is much higher. Most of my reserves range from $49.99 to $99.99.
