PRESENTING A MAGNIFICENT ANTIQUE CARVED VICTORIAN RENAISSANCE HIGHBACK BED. This beautiful, Solid antique bed was all hand done in Walnut or Mahogany. It is circa 1870s, 80 & will be the perfect center of your boudoir. It features a gorgeous 80 inch high Arched Panel-In-Frame headboard. T is a massive, beautifully Hand Carved Crest Medallion & Regal, Curved Crown moldings (hand shaped of course). The Arched center panel is made from Wide, old-growth planks- all planed smooth by hand & surrounded by a great curved frame. Wonderful shaped, scrolled sides & carvings are above the thick corner posts. The corner posts are seperate & support the huge headboard between. The finish is original with a later glazing brushed on is areas. It can be cleaned & waxed for use or refinished to look brand new if you desire. Original Sleigh Bed rails are stepped at the ends & hand chamfered on the edges. I see evidence of older repairs on the rail ends with metal breakets installed. These are invisible with your mattress in place & are good, strong & sturdy bedrails overall. The Footboard has Solid, Thickly curved corner posts with incised carving details. A large hand carved floral Rosette adorns the center. Your standard Full Size mattress & boxspring will fit with no modifications needed. This grand old bed breaks down into 6 seperate pieces for shipping & transport. Measures 60 inches wide, 80 inches high with a 31 inch high Footboard & 79 inches in length.
