This is a superb c.19th Victorian spelter bronze figurine of a scottish hunter with rabbit and pheasant game hanging to his belt. My bronze figurines come from a variety of sources including part clearance collections, quality antique fairs and small private sales which uncover pieces from the 18th,19th, 20th centuries and later periods, and include a variety of bronzes such as animalier, Art Nouveau, Art Deco. This is a particularly superb spelter figurine and a very rare subject matter. The scotsman is beautifully posed looking into the distance with his hunting rifle. Attention to his traditional scottish costume is superb. This figurine is quite beautifully detailed.. Mounted on original wood plinth. He is a little loose on base. The condition is excellent and age commensurate. M easures some 16 " height. A superb and a very collectable c.19th Victorian spelter figurine which will make a fine decorative display.
