Magnificent French Renaissance Throne Chair 1880-1890

For your consideration is this fine French throne chair, made between 1880-1890. It measures aprox. (5' feet tall), 29" wide, and 23" deep. It is in excellent original condition, with no major breaks or repairs. There are a few small chips, (very difficult to spot), wear areas and minor age cracks, that you would expect to find on a chair of this age, with this amount of carving. Overall the chair looks great, is tight; and the best you would hope to find, in a 100+ year old chair! I bought this chair out of a N.Y.C. apartment, from it's owner; who purchased it in France, aprox. 35 years ago. I had an upscale antique store for many years, and i sold many, "Throne Chairs"; this is one of the nicest i have ever had, with it's stately size, and phenomenal carvings. The carvings are pleasant, nicely detailed, and designed in a way, that's not overdone, or "dizzying", to look at. This is a substantial chair; not delicate in nature, one you would not be afraid to sit on!
