Magnificent GROSFELD HOUSE Mahogany WRITING TABLE Magnificent GROSFELD HOUSE Mahogany WRITING TABLE ITEM This is an exceptional mahogany writing table from Grosfeld House, who is arguably one of the finest American furniture makers of the 20th century. This exquisite neo-classical table is mahogany with a single large drawer and gilded moldings on either end to provide decorative accents. T is a bronze gallery that surrounds the beautiful top and it rests on tapered legs which descent to a single shelf which is edge with brass molding. The legs end in brass capped feet. This exquisite writing table has the Grosfeld House tag inside the drawer. Grosfeld House furniture of New York and Los Angeles is highly sought after by collectors. The heyday of Grosfeld House furniture was the 1930s through the 1950s and their art deco and Hollywood Regency pieces are especially prized by collectors. However, they also created a large collection of neo-classical pieces for the elegant traditional home. Grosfeld House furniture pieces are in important furniture collections in homes around the world and perhaps the best known collector of this fine maker was Andy Warhol. The secondary (i.e., "used") market for Grosfeld Furniture is exceptional and t are very few pieces for sale on the internet for under $1000 and seldom do any pieces come up on eBay.
