MAGNIFICENT MAYAN HANDMADE EARTHENWARE STONEWARE CLAY ETHNIC VASE, MAYAN PRIEST RITE FIGURES, YUCATAN MEXICOMy mother had to relocate recently with the subsequent downsizing. Many boxes had to be taken into storage and I am now helping her to sell some of the items that she and my father bought during the 50 years they were happily married. We still have many boxes in storage.This is a beautiful rustic handmade clay vase, with two Mayan ceremonial priest etched on the piece. The priest figures depicted on the vase have a Quetzalcoatl and an Eagle headpiece. It is made of beautiful earthenware, hand tinted in terracotta red hues. Has the wonderful "smell" of handmade clay pieces this old. This was bought in Yucatan, Mexico but I don´t know the real age of the piece. Natural uneven surface and finish of handmade earthenware, inside and out.In perfect condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. It shows some minor scuffing on the bottom part, from sitting on a shelf. It is 5 ½" tall and 3 ½" in diameter.From a happy home, smoke and pet free.Thank you for buying on eBay.
