* * * FROM MY PERSONAL COLLECTION * * * If you are ever fortunate enough to come across such a genuine, drop-dead gorgeous, Victorian Brides Bowl with "MATCHING" silver-plated holder, count yourself very lucky, indeed! Featured is is a very special, absolutely beautiful, presentation brides bowl which, alone, stands approximately 5 1/2" tall and is an impressive 12" in diameter. This monumental bowl is fluted, ruffled, spattered and marbelized in a stunning deep pink and white allover decoration, with a delightful frosted edge. It should be noted, that the color pink, especially such a deep pink, required the addition of gold into the batch recipe, and was considered one of the most difficult of all colorations to produce. This very elaborately blown bowl has a smooth pontil, and the addition of a very thick, substantial, solid silver band around the entire circumference of the bowl's approximately 5" diameter footed portion. On the exterior of the bowl, the very skilled decorator presented a stunning display of deep, cobalt blue enameled flowere, outlined in rich yellow and white, with heavy gold foliage, and wispy, black tendril trailings. Finished in an overall satin glass effect, this Victorian masterpiece is truly a sight to behold. Manufactured circa 1880-1885, such ornate, brides bowls were no longer in vogue after the turn of the 20th century. The equally, magnificent, silver-plated frame stands approximately 10 1/4" tall, with an impressive width of approximately 15 1/4"! This incredibly ornate, footed holder features both griffins and cherubs within its 2-handled design theme, and is a perfect match to the brides bowl!!! Please note...I am stressing this particular point because it is of the utmost importance! What you are seeing , is a "match" made in heaven, a perfect mating, if you will, rather than a "marriage" of two disparate pieces, which is generally the case. These two pieces were manufactured with each other in mind, and have been perfectly matched from their very beginning! This gorgeous, silver-plated holder has NEVER been re-silvered during the many, many years I have owned this museum piece, simply because, that was not my own, personal preference. T are no cracks, chips, scratches, or other defects of any kind to the brides bowl, itself, and you may purchase with complete confidence. I ship to the United States and Canada via USPS Priority Mail, the same day as payment is received. The bidder is solely responsible for for all shipping and required insurance costs. Payment is required within 5 days of notification of the total amount due. This piece is being sold in an auction format and returns will be considered, only if the item has been misrepresented and is returned in its, original, undamaged condition, within 3 days of receipt by the successful bidder. Any refund will be for the bid amount only, and I am not responsible for any uninsured items. I have been collecting antique glassware and china for more than 40 years, and am a member of several collecting groups, including the Mount Washington Glass Society, The National Greentown Glass Association, Inc., and the Custard Glass Collector's Society. A modest, reserve valuation has been placed in the listing to help protect the seller's investment. Please ask any questions you may have, prior to bidding, as I always endeavor to answer all inquiries promptly and honestly. All items are packaged very carefully and double-boxed for safe delivery to your doorstep. As always, thanks for your interest and good luck bidding.
