This whimsical Trifari Sterling Jelly Belly circus seal brooch is the popular and sought after Alfred Philippe design from 1943 and is accompanied with Sterling Jelly Belly clipback earrings. Design Patent No. 135,188, for the brooch, was issued March 9, 1943. The seal is balancing an 11mm light sapphire, chaton cut rhinestone "ball". It is unfoiled, openbacked and is in flawless condition. The brooch measures 1 3/4"x3 1/2". T are small clear rhinestones on the nose, ear and flippers. They are all clear and bright. He has a red glass cabochon eye. The robust Lucite body is in excellent condition. The gold vermeil shows only very minimal wear. The brooch is signed with the early Trifari signature, STERLING and the Des.Pat.No. The Trifari Sterling horseshoe earrings are 3/4"x7/8". The Lucite is in excellent condition and the rhinestones are all clear and bright. The gold vermeil has uniformly worn almost completely off. Each earring is signed Trifari STERLING.
