NO RESERVE AUCTION This magnificent, antique Victorian Bride's Bowl measures a full 10" in diameter across the rim and stands approximately 5 3/4" tall on its very ornate, gold-washed foot. With a clearly numbered pontil and marked quadrupleplate, this extraordinary Mother Of Pearl Satin Glass Bride's Bowl was manufactured circa 1880-1885, with a professional attribution nod to either Thomas Webb or Mount Washington. This very lovely, exceptional selection is a masterpiece of the glassblower's artistic handiwork, featuring a large, 12 melon-ribbed circumference and a 6-pointed, rose bowl top rim! The stunning, deep rose coloration is evident throughout, and is cased over white on the interior surface. This deep rose base color is further enhanced with the addition of the most gorgeous, hand-decorated, heavy gold florals, leaves and tendrils. As if all of this was not quite enough, the piece de resistance was the addition of a very unusual, silver-plated rope tied in a bow around the entire exterior of this incredible, Presentation Bride's Bowl! This fantastic piece has so many wonderful characteristics and highlights going for it, that you find yourself almost mesmerized by its beauty. I detect no cracks, chips, scratches, or breaks in any of the very labor-intensive Diamond-Quilted Mother Of Pearl Design, gradation elements.
