Magnificent and very handsome Gentlemans original 7 jewel American Waltham U.S.A., pocket watch with a beautiful mint condition porcelain dial and a highly polished/mirror finish 10 carat rose gold filled half hunter original Dennison case with the rarer Royal blue enamel roman numerals to outer case chapter ring (they are more commonly black). C 1904. Full working order and is an excellent timekeeper (within +2/-2 minute per 24 hours). Fully checked and serviced by myself and my highly experienced watchmaker and is guaranteed to be 100% authentic - a timepiece to grace any collection! DIAL;- Beautiful pale ivory porcelain dial in mint condition - absolutely no hairlines, marks or nibbles. Very bold black roman numerals with black minute, bold five minute and bolder 15 minute triangular shaped markers to chapter ring. Recessed sub dial with black seconds chapters and black arabic numbers. Original and correct blued double spade and whip hands (so allowing easy time check through the outer crystal, slight bit of age patina showing under eyeglass to one of the spades on the hour hand) and original blued steel arrow tip seconds hand all in good condition. New hunter crystal in clear, bright, mark free order and original outer domed bevel edge glass (not acrylic) showing few light and short little surface scratches under eyeglass commensurate with age and use. CASE;- The chunky 5cm diameter /7.1cm from top of bow to base very highly polished/mirror finish (please excuse any reflections in the pictures - was very difficult to photograph) 10 carat rose gold filled (has a lovely pink hue to it) half hunter Dennison case is heavy, robust and in excellent condition with absolutely no wear or indentations and just overall very light, little surface scratches commensurate with age and use in her 108 years service. The front cover (which carries the rarer Royal blue enamel roman numerals to the inner chapter ring all of which are in superb order with just the tiniest bit of enamel loss showing under eyeglass only) opens crisply and correctly to exactly 90 degrees when the crown is depressed and The back cover and dust cover both open correctly to exactly 90 degrees and The inside of the front cover is clearly numbered; 77779 xx. The inside of the back cover is stamped; MOON TRADE MARK (the moon cases are always 10ct gold filled), A.L.D. DENNISON WATCH CASE CO., (Aaron Lufkin Dennison - one of the founding fathers of the American Waltham Watch Co who moved to England to establish the Dennison factory) and has their sun, cresent moon and star symbols stamped clearly to centre. Numbered again; 77779 xx. This number is correctly, partially repeated on the inside back case curvette; 779. Also carries two old service marks. The dust cover (which has a very light scratch) is beautifully engraved; J.F.W. March 28th..1913 and is stamped inside; ENGLISH MAKE GUARANTEED TO BE MADE OF TWO PLATES OF 10CT GOLD WITH PLATE OF COMPOSITION BETWEEN AND TO WEAR 20 YEARS. Numbered again; 77779 7F (the 7 is thought to be the Dennison date numbering system - 1907 and the F is the first letter of the surname of the Dennison employee who pinned the case joints - I have been able to identify him; E.A. Furneaux). MOVEMENT;- The stem wound and set American Waltham U.S.A., Traveler 7 ruby jewelled 3/4 brass plate lever movement (Waltham 1899 model, 16 size, Grade; Traveler) is in lovely condition with just a tiny bit of age patina to the top plates, mainspring and ratchet barrel covers commensurate with age.
