WHAT A LOVELY ANTIQUE WILLIAM IV SILVER COFFEE POT! IT IS OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY. And really nice and exceedingly heavy too. This is a very large example and features both a silver handle and floral finial,always a sure sign of quality workmanship. Its sits on a circular base. Here we have a quite exceptional and quite lovely solid silver coffee pot of terrific gauge and weight.Hallmarks are deep and clear.Fully marked to finial,handle and to side of body. Assayed in London and dated 1834 (year letter t).Maker is CF-Charles Thomas Fox-a member of a very fine 19th Century family of goldsmiths (refer to Jackson's pocket edition page 49). This is a lovely and uncommon piece of William IV silver-it of highly flamboyant half fluted form and is a wonderful piece of grand silver. The diameter is very large at 10.5 inches and its height 9 inches. It is unengraved and always has been,definitely no ersures either. This lovely pot is of exceptional quality and is a most delightful piece of table silver. Its weight is a sublime 908 grams (29.20 troy ounces) and the overall condition is quite sensational.Its only flaw is an old small repair to the inside of the lid at the back,why this is i know not.I mention this for accuracy and in truth it is barely noticeable and detracts little if at all from a truly great piece of silver. Handle and finial are crucially both firm and secure. Please note that i have listed many other good items of both modern and antique silver,please do have a look-including more teasets and good individual pots. A truly beautiful and most wonderful lot. Would doubtless cost an awful lot of money in a good retail outlet today.. PERFECT FOR USE ALL YEAR ROUND,DINE IN REAL STYLE!
