MAH JONG FOLDING TABLE & 4 CHAIRS LOUIS RASTETTER NICE! Offered as a set are the table and 4 chairs shown in the photos. The label on each of the chairs indicates that the set was manufactured by Louis Rastetter & Sons, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, who were in business until closed from the 1920's into the 1950's. The latest patent date on the label is 1927. These are from their Solid Kumfort line.
The tabletop is 27 inches square, and 28 inches off the ground. Each chair is 17 by 36 inches, with each seat being about 14 inches square. Remarkably, the leather covers on the table and the four chair seats are essentially undamaged, with just the tiniest flaws. The same is true for the decals, for the paint, and for the folding hardware. The table shakes ever so slightly, like most card tables with folding legs, but the table and the chairs are very sturdy. This set is in fabulous condition!!! So what's this got to do with Mah Jong? The most recent owner (who got the set 30 years ago at an antique show) called us and asked if we would be interested in buying her "Mah Jong set". Because of the oriental decals on the table and chairs, she was able to wow her friends by having them play the game on this set with its highly compatible theme. And so, to her (and perhaps you!), this is a Mah Jong set. In any case, t are Rastetter folding chairs being offered on eBay at this time for upwards of $100 per chair, and they are much plainer and less interesting than the ones offered -- and we have 4 chairs and a matching table in excellent condition. We've pegged the shipping costs below at 25 pounds, but we do not want to be responsible for packing these safely. Your going to have these picked up; or, we'll deliver the set for $25 within 2 hours of home; or, we'll take them to a nearby UPS store and let you work out the packing and shipping arrangements with them. Winning bidder will receive a notice from eBay within a day after this auction closes. This notice will contain information about Paypal and all other forms of payment. Buyer will pay actual shipping charge -- insurance required for items selling at over $50. No additional charge for careful packaging. Postage is either specified in the description above or can be calculated in the box below. New Jersey buyers please add 7% sales tax. Charges and money orders ship immediately, checks after ten days, sooner with good feedback record. Sorry, we do not end auctions early.
